We Host Clean Ops
OLR hosts community cleanups using our Litter Ridder backpacks. We encourage community members to join us in our efforts to keep our neighbourhoods clean and free of litter. By using our backpacks, we reduce waste and promote sustainability. Our cleanups not only make a positive impact on the environment, but also bring people together to work towards a common goal. We are proud to be making a difference in our community and hope to inspire others to do the same.
We determine a date and location
We choose a date (and a rain date) and identify the specific area or route that will be targeted for the cleanup. We obtain any required permits or permissions from relevant authorities or landowners.
We create public awareness
We use various channels such as social media, local newspapers, community bulletin boards, and word-of-mouth to spread the word about the cleanup event.
We conduct clean up activities
We provide a brief overview of the cleanup goals, safety reminders, and assign volunteers to specific 'hotspots' in the areas of focus.
We recruit volunteers
We reach out to individuals, community groups, schools, and local organizations to gather volunteers for the cleanup event.
We supply all the tools
We supply all the tools to make litter clean up easy and fun. Everyone is outfitted with a Litter Ridder backpack, tongs, and gloves.
We dispose of the litter responsibily
We arrange for waste collection and disposal, ensuring that collected litter is properly segregated and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
